Cadillac Jack’s is enthusiastic for the opportunity to spread goodwill and be a contributor to the season of giving. This holiday season, Cadillac Jack’s will be collecting toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. Toys must be new, unwrapped, and acceptable up to age 14 for a boy or girl. Deadline for drop off is December 12, 2012.
Toys for Tots began in 1947 by Major Bill Hendricks in collaboration with fellow Marine Reservists in Los Angeles. Their initial efforts successfully collected 5,000 toys for the needy children in the Los Angeles area. Recognizing the successful good measures it provided for the community, the U.S. Marine Corps. adopted Major Bill Hendricks idea in 1948. Toys for Tots and has been going strong within communities and businesses ever since.
Cadillac Jack’s is humbled to be an active member of the community while spreading cheer and goodwill during this holiday season. We encourage the local community to take part in this wonderful opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. Donations are accepted for boys and girls up to age 14. Younger ages tend to be a bit easier to shop for than teens and pre-teens; however, helpful shopping ideas include for the older children include:
• Cosmetics, bath gift sets, purses
• Board games
• Sports equipment
• Watches, wallets, backpacks
• Skateboards, helmets
• Beauty supplies
While the season of cheerful spirit invigorates the Black Hills communities, Cadillac Jack’s is happy to provide an opportunity for local residents to spread goodwill and give back to those who are less fortunate.
